Nicaragua Day 6

My internet connection here in San Juan del Sur is rather slow so uploading photos is a bit tedious but I wanted to show you some more photos of Laguna de Apoyo, the volcanic lake and the town of Rivas which we visited on Tuesday.  Tomorrow we depart for Granada, the colonial city and one of the oldest cities in the New world, founded in 1524 by Francisco Fernandez de Cordoba and named after the city of Granada, Spain.  For today though a few more photos of our visit to Laguna de Apoyo and Rivas.  You will notice that Nicaraguans are a colorful people and Nicaragua is a colorful country.  You might also notice the ferocious looking fish from the waters of Laguna de Apoyo with their prominent teeth who look frightening but are very delicious when grilled ” a la plancha.”
